Job purpose : Oversee and manage the bank’s enterprise-wide risk management framework. The role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure the bank operates within its risk appetite while complying with regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement the bank’s enterprise risk management strategy and framework
- Ensure alignment of risk management activities with the overall business strategy
- Identify and evaluate potential risks to the group’s operations, finances, and reputation
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop risk profiles for various business activities
- Formulate and implement risk mitigation plans and control measures.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies
- Develop and update risk management policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Establish a robust risk monitoring system to track key risk indicators.
- Prepare and present regular risk reports to the executive management and relevant committees
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability within the organization
- Engage with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and other stakeholders on risk-related issues.
- Collaborate with business units and departments to understand their risk profiles and ensure effective communication on risk matters.
- Develop and implement response plans for potential risk events and crises
- Coordinate with relevant teams to manage and mitigate the impact of risk incidents
- Formulates risk management policies
- Responsible for establishing methodologies for risk measurement across the Bank
- Directs group-wide engagement with regulators on internal capital and liquidity adequacy assessments
- Supervises the articulation and reporting of the group-wide recovery and resolutions plan
- Supervises the performance of stress testing and scenario planning
- Make representations to the board on risk measurement issues
- Supervises the model risk management process
- Manage the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) FLI estimation process and provides training and technical support to SBUs
- Oversee the internal capital charge for Operational risk, market risk credit risk, and other pillar 2 risks
- Manage the enterprise-wide risk dashboards for monitoring and reporting on limits
- Responsible for drafting, monitoring, and updating the risk appetite and tolerance limits
- Develop and implement the sovereign risk rating strategy and frameworks
- Develop and implement the Bank’s model risk management frameworks
- Coordinates the conduct of environmental and social risk screening and assessment of credits
- Supervises the conduct of due diligence and drafts action plans for the management of E&S issues
- Ensures on-going compliance with the applicable E&S requirement and action plans on daily basis
- Collaborates with credit support team to prescribe management system for high E&S risk credits/obligors
- Responds to all regulatory requests relating to ESRM across the Bank
- Serve as liaison office for all Development finance partners on E&S related enquiries
- Drives the Group’s partnerships in all E&S-related issues – In line with the IFC,EPs, GRI & NSBP stipulations
- Reports and engages with Central Bank/Regulators BN on E&S-related activities
- Coordinates regular training on ESRM across the Bank
- Formulates, implements, evaluates, and monitors the sustainability strategy of the Group in conjunction with relevant stakeholders (internal & external)
- Drafts and publishes the Group’s annual ESG Reports
- Conducts green tagging assessment/audit and maintains a database of stranded/potentially stranded assets
- Manages the preparation of the group’s climate change policies
- Oversees the identification, measurement, evaluation, monitoring, control, and reporting of sustainability-related risks and opportunities
- Support and contribute to the calculation of the group’s scope 1,2&3 carbon footprints
- Lead and manage a team of sustainability professionals, providing guidance and support

Minimum Education Qualifications
Minimum of a good bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, such as natural or social sciences, with relevant second degree and professional certificates as advantage
Work Experience
Minimum of 8 years requisite experience in banking covering enterprise risk management, ESG Financial reporting standards
